DeRoy Murdock on the Clean Power Plan

Got this note from Paul Driessen this morning. He and I agree that Murdock is great writer and advocate of conservative good sense.

Paul’s note:

I’ve had the honor and pleasure of knowing Deroy Murdock for 20-some years. He’s a brilliant … analytical … eloquent … passionate … free market … black … conservative columnist, speaker and Fox News commentator. If you haven’t met him and his articles, here’s your opportunity.

In this typical, take-no-prisoners column, Deroy launches a trademark tirade against the Obama EPA’s deceitfully named “Clean Power Plan” – and champions the constitutional and human rights of another friend in that small but rapidly growing coterie of pro-fossil fuel black conservatives: National Black Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Harry Alford, who has had the unpardonable temerity to criticize President Obama and his job-killing policies and global warming hysteria. Deroy writes:

“The proposed Clean Power Plan would impose severe and disproportionate economic burdens on poor families, especially minorities,” Alford told the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Oversight Subcommittee on Tuesday. “The EPA’s regressive energy tax threatens to push minorities and low-income Americans even further into poverty.”

The Left, Deroy observes, finds this totally inappropriate. How dare a black man who represents 2.4 million black-owned businesses criticize this president?!? Murdock continues:

When he secured the 2008 Democrat presidential nomination, Obama crowed, “This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow.” Now we know by how much. The CPP would limit sea-level rise by 1/100 of an inch — as high as three sheets of paper.

To savor the rest of Deroy’s article, go to, where all his articles are posted – or go directly to:

You’ll be glad you did.

Best regards,
