  1. I get asked about some of the unethical pronouncements of the utilitarian school of thinking. I started answering that what I want to know is who called the utilitarians ethical? Most of utilitarian thought withers under the light of mild sarcasm. For example, I tell the neo-Malthusians who think that the population needs to be forcibly reduced that they should go first.
