2030-Warmer or Colder?

If you don’t like global warming, there are predictions of the next mini ice age by 2030 because of a quiet sun.  Time to pick your spot in the next Thames frost fair? From The Independent,  ‘Mini ice age’ coming in next fifteen years, new model of the Sun’s cycle shows

There will be a “mini ice age” in 2030, solar scientists have said.

We are now able to predict solar cycles with far greater accuracy than ever before thanks to a new model which shows irregularities in the sun’s 11-year heartbeat.

The model shows that solar activity will fall by 60 per cent between 2030 and 2040 causing a “mini ice age”.

The conditions predicted have not been experienced since the last “mini ice age” which lasted from 1645 to 1715, called the Maunder Minimum.

Solar influence on climate has been played down by the climate scientists as negligible. The quiet sun predictions have been increasing over past few years.  This is the first one I recall with such definite predictions.  At least this prediction may be in a time frame that someone can remember the prediction.

The only thing that seem to be settled in the settled science of climate is that we don’t quite know it all.

  1. They can’t change Earth’s climate, but they can change the sunspot count:

Perhaps we are witnessing the beginning of the end for those who sought fortune, fame and power. We can’t save them or the world, but we can keep in mind that

“Happiness is a by-product from knowing and fulfilling our own purpose in life:

We each have the same purpose: To make this beautiful, bountiful and benevolent universe even better because we are part if it.”

  2. Children won’t know what a heatwave is….

  3. I’ve put together a list of sorts, of a fair number of the predictions and atmospheric / climate indications which say we’re heading for cooling http://kajm.deviantart.com/art/The-Case-for-A-New-Cooling-Cycle-491553335

  4. Big news! Professor Habibullah Abdussamatov of the Pulkovo Observatory in St. Petersburg has been warning us for about 20 years about imminent cooling.
