More silliness on extinctions from the loony Gaurdian

Well it was not the Guardian that said it, but some researchers trolling for grants and support–claiming they have discovered a terrible human effect.

New species are discovered all the time, counting extinction is mighty might uncertain.

I don’t think this is good research at all.

  1. Where in the theory of evolution or any other biology is there evidence that people are “special” and hold sway over the entire planet? That’s religion, not science. As far as extinctions go, first off, we are no where near a great extinction. They take millions of years. We may, however, be at the extinction of science as truth. Truth in science does look like a mass extinction at this point.

  2. This “story” prominently reported on each BBC Radio 2 News bulletin on the hour every hour for most of today. Sigh.

  3. Paul Ehlrich again! Need we say more! Not an impressive record of scaremongering!
