Pensions unfunded–answer–defined contributions

I have always said on the pages of JS that defined contributions is the sensible way to make a pension benefit system work.

This looks at the insanity of the CA public employees pensiion/benefit system that is worse than a casino.

    Defined contribution plans eliminate unfunded liabilities through accounting. Whether defined benefit or defined contribution, the idea is funding an adequate benefit. That is not guaranteed in either way.
